Cream Rug
There are many ways people can choose to decorate a room. One method is to choose an area rug and work around it. A cream rug is a great addition for any room and furnishing a room based on this type of rug should be relatively simple. There is no right or wrong way to decorate a room. However the method of decorating around an area rug allows the homeowner to create a look that is cohesive. Also they will need very little knowledge of decorating to go ahead and use this method. Cream rugs look great in many different rooms and because it is a neutral color, it is easy to find furniture and furnishings that will go with cream area rugs.
The first thing to do is to select the rug. With a cream rug it is likely to be a rug that is one color and not patterned. Patterned rugs tend to have a lot of colors in them and this makes it harder to match furnishings to them. The size of the rug is also important; those with a large lounge may want to get a bigger rug. If the rug is for the bedroom it may be better to buy a small rug.
Because the rug that has been chosen is cream there are many colors that will complement it. If the walls of the home are a bright color to make a strong statement, a cream rug is a nice way to accentuate these bold walls. However one color that does not work well with cream is white. When a cream item is placed against a bright white wall, there is a danger that the cream begins to look as if it is a white that has become very dirty.
The primary fabrics that are on furniture should also be taken into consideration. Leather looks great with a plain cream rug whereas bright busy fabrics may not. While cream may not look bad with patterned furniture it would look better with plain furniture that is in basic colors such as black and brown. This is because a cream area rug has a modern look to it and to make sure it looks the best that it can modern furniture should be used in the room.
Decorating with a cream colored rug is not difficult but time and care should still be taken when selecting furnishings in order to make the room look stylish and pleasing to the eye.
