Equestrian Rugs
Equestrian area rugs are nice way to bring a western theme into the décor of a home. The equestrian theme can be used throughout the house; or in a single room. Using equestrian rugs in a room can either accent, or be a focal point of a room’s décor.
There are numerous styles and designs of equestrian area rugs. They can be woven or printed patterns. Options of design include horses dotting the border of the rug, a mare nuzzling her foal, a proud stallion standing at show, or a running herd of wild mustangs. The design could be the silhouette of a head of horse with flowing mane, or of the entire horse with long mane and tail sweeping gracefully down the body. There are rugs that are more cartoon-like in design that are often used in children’s bedrooms.
Most equestrian area rugs come in neutral colors of browns, tans, blacks, and whites; however, some can be more colorful with blues, purples, yellows, or reds added. Rug designs that have the different equestrian disciplines, such as jumping, tend to have more color. The Neutral colors of the equestrian rugs will coordinate well with any color scheme in a house or room. Rugs with vibrant colors will work well with specific color schemes.
Equestrian rugs can coordinate with other décor such as lampshades, bedcovers, curtains, shower curtains, and wallpaper. They come in various sizes usually ranging from 3×5 feet to 8’x10’ feet. They are available in different shapes, rectangular rugs being the most common. Prices are based on size and the material of the rugs. The most common material used to make rugs is polyester or polypropylene, but they also come in other materials such as cotton or wool. Equestrian rugs can be purchased at brick and mortar stores or online retailers. Many sellers offer bargains so consumers looking for a good deal on an equestrian rug will not be disappointed.
