Every Day Rug Care
Everyday people walk by your precious rug, thus everyday you need to clean off dirt and vacuum everything that might have lodged itself in your carpet. Aside from promoting hygienic practices by vacuuming everyday, you are also doing a great job taking care of your rug.
The area rug is a centerpiece décor intended to complement the general design of your house. It is then disastrous when someone close to you spills some coffee or chocolate over you’re the carpet right? When this happens, all you have to do is immediately smudge the carpet with clothing made of wool or cotton.
Cheap rugs stain easily, to remove them you can either smudge club soda to the stain or use a mixture of vinegar and cold water. 1 part vinegar is equal to 1 part water. The vinegar mixture is efficient in removing dyes extracted from coffee and tea (tannins) but it may aggravate other types of stains so watch out.
If the stain does not come off easily, use a medium sized brush, tooth brush, or extra absorbent clothing to smudge your carpet. It might also be good to use warm water first so loosen up old and dried stains for easy removal.

When using rug cleaning solutions, make sure you follow the instructions carefully but don’t forget to prep the rug up with warm water. As much as possible, minimize wet areas on your rug while removing stains. Dry the rug thoroughly after removing all spots so you can vacuum the whole thing and make it usable once again.
Finally, when cleaning designer or cheap rugs, secure a rug pad so you can protect the rug from abrasive damage and prevent hazards from happening at the same time. Cheap rugs are easily damaged, especially when wet, thus make sure you have something protecting it from direct contact with rough surfaces.
